PREVIEW
Aston Villa will be anxious to avoid a second shock result in seven days when they head to London to take on Millwall this evening.
The last time these two sides met in this competition was in 1896, where Millwall progressed on the back of a tight 1-0 victory after the first tie had ended 1-1 at Villa Park.
Paul Lambert failed to inspire a comeback against Bradford in the League Cup and the confidence visibly drained from their young side when the equaliser went in. Expect Kenny Jackett to have been working on set-pieces during the build-up after witnessing Bradford score three of their four goals against Villa from corners.
With relegation a genuine concern for Lambert’s men, additional matches won’t be high on the agenda with a limited squad and their midweek exertions will likely hamper their chances.
Away from Villa Park it’s four straight games without a victory for Villa and I’m happy to back the hosts at around 2.54 on BETDAQ.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
