PREVIEW
The final Championship fixture before Christmas sees Birmingham travel to Selhurst Park looking to bounce back from their Europa League exit last week. Crystal Palace are just one point ahead of their next opponents and both clubs will still have a top six finish in sight as we approach the halfway point of the campaign.
Dougie Freedman’s side are unbeaten in six home league games, but they’ll be plenty of frustration that five of those fixtures have finished level. It’s not tough to see why Palace are drawing too many games after the side have managed just five league goals in ten matches. One positive is that Palace have kept things tight at the back and they’ve conceded only three times in six home league games.
Now that Blues are out of Europe, Chris Hughton will be desperate his side can start to find some consistency with a less congested fixture list. The manager will be annoyed that Blues haven’t been able to replicate their strong home form when away from St Andrews. However, Blues have certainly had the better of Palace in recent games and they come into this clash unbeaten in four matches.
Blues haven’t even conceded in three games against Palace and with the hosts’ poor goal return, the best bet here looks to be backing there to be fewer than 2.5 goals at around 1.7 on BETDAQ.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back under 2.5 goals at around 1.7: 7 points
Sunday’s Return: +3.75
