TWO NAPS AND FOUR DOUBLES UP IN TWO DAYS: Shamrock yesterday landed his nap (Don Cossack WON 4-6) and doubled it with Zaidpour (WON 1-3). This followed success with his nap, and three winning doubles and a treble in his Saturday yankee.

I’m after a Christmas box at Navan. While landing a naps hat-trick must be a priority, the stats suggest I should go for big odds in the two handicap hurdles.

There have been no winners in their history over the age of seven or carrying more than 11st 1lb., and weight-carrying wont be likely on the soft-heavy today.

My first fancy is Referent (1.20), 24.0 on Betdaq as I write. This front-runner, twice a winner in France, has been weakening out of it over further but drops back to the minimum here with every chance of at least hanging on into the frame. Back and lay.

Too Late To Sell (2.25) could be much improved, stepped up in trip for the first time today, and with Davy Russell booked: 14.0.

I’m entrusting Jenari (12.20) with the nap, though the Punchestown Champion Bumper third may want better ground; she also wants for opposition here.

Similarly, despite the doubt – this time its his absence for nearly a year – Knockgraffon King (1.55) should carry far too many guns in his weak maiden. The Paparrazi Kid (2.55) completes my trio.

SHAMROCK’S BETS
NAP: Jenari (12.20 Navan),
NEXT BEST: The Paparrazi Kid (2.55 Navan)
OUTSIDERS: Referent (1.20), Too Late To Sell (2.25 Navan)
CHRISTMAS-BOX DOUBLE: Referent (1.20) and Too Late To Sell (2.25 Navan)
DAQ TRIO: Jenari (12.20 Navan), Knockgraffon King (1.55 Navan), The Paparrazi Kid (2.55 Navan)
