🏆 World Cup 2026 🏆

🇨🇴 Colombia v DR Congo 🇨🇬

3am (Wednesday) Group K continues in the early hours of Wednesday morning as Colombia take on DR Congo in Guadalajara on WORLD CUP 2026 Betdaq Betting Exchange! ! After this fixture, everyone will have played twice, and we’ll be into the final Group matchdays on Thursday. Colombia top the group after a comfortable win on Matchday One, while DR Congo produced one of the genuine stories of the tournament so far in holding Portugal to a draw. With Portugal having dropped points, this is about as good a chance as Colombia could have asked for to move a big step closer to topping Group K outright, which we tipped in our Group K preview. They still have to meet Portugal on the final matchday though!

As you would expect, Colombia come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.55 with DR Congo 7.8 and the draw is 4.3 at the time of writing. DR Congo’s point against Portugal deserves to be remembered as one of the most famous results in their history. Playing at a World Cup for the first time since 1974, when they competed as Zaire, Sebastien Desabre’s side were given little hope against a Portugal team featuring Cristiano Ronaldo and a host of attacking talent, yet they matched them stride for stride. Obviously all the debate was around Ronaldo and does he take away from the Portugal attack, but Congo deserve massive credit too. They were outplayed; they kept Portugal down to an xG of just 1.07 – a remarkable defensive showing against opposition of that calibre.

They were considerably stronger than anyone outside their own camp expected, and there’s a strong case that the result said as much about Portugal’s attacking struggles as it did about Congo’s defensive organisation, but either way, a point against one of the tournament favourites on debut is an outstanding effort. Colombia, by contrast, did exactly what was expected of them beating Uzbekistan 3-1. Obviously they are fancied to follow up and win this, but the Congo performance against Portugal would make you think twice before backing Colombia at 1.55. Congo will take real confidence from how well their low block worked against vastly superior individual talent, and there’s no reason to expect Congo to change an approach that worked.

The challenge here is different; Colombia carry more varied attacking threat than the version of Portugal that turned up in Houston, with Diaz in particular looking sharp and dangerous in behind, and Congo will need another disciplined, near-perfect defensive display to repeat the trick twice running. Plus, any idea that Colombia would take this fixture lightly is 100% gone. Congo’s defensive solidity suggests this could be tighter and lower-scoring than a straightforward Colombia win, but I’m not going to lay Colombia – I’d rather stay out of the match odds market. I think we have a cagey affair here, and Under 2.5 goals is worth a small bet at 1.73.
