PREVIEW
Tonight’s game between Southampton and Everton will see home fan’s voicing their anger at the shock sacking of Saints’ manager Nigel Adkins (pictured)last week. Adkins had presided over back-to-back promotions for the seaside club and they have lost only two of their last 12 league games.
The dismissal came on the back of a brilliant 2-2 draw at Chelsea, in which they came back from two goals down in a result that took them up to 15th-place in the Premier League table and three points clear of the relegation zone.
It will be a tough baptism for new manager Mauricio Pochettino against an Everton team that opposition have found hard to beat this term. They haven’t lost a game in their last ten but have only two wins in that time. Nine of those matches have finished with scorelines of either 1-1 or 2-1 and the 0-0 draw with Swansea was the first time in 18 games that both teams had failed to score in a Toffees’ game.
Only Stoke have drawn more games than David Moyes’ men this term and, at around 3.65 on BETDAQ, a repeat of that result looks worth chancing.
