PREVIEW
Fulham were the first side to take a point from Manchester City when the clubs met in September, but the league leaders remain imperious on their own turf. Roberto Mancini’s side still boast of a 100% home league record, but there have been signs that the pressure is starting to get to the Italian.
Manchester City were beaten for the third time this season on Tuesday evening and the lead at the top is now solely on goal difference. Liverpool recently beat City at home in the Carling Cup, but Fulham will need some luck and to play at their very best to get anything.
During the week Fulham let a 1-0 lead slip to struggling West Brom and they cannot make the same mistakes here. Martin Jol’s side have struggled on the road all season and the Cottagers have won only once away from home in the league all season. It’s not all doom and gloom for those Fulham fans making the trip North as the side have drawn four of their past six away league outings.
Goals have been a major problem for the Cottagers who are now up against arguably the best keeper in the Premier League. Four goals have been scored by Fulham in their past six away league games.
Although City have started to struggle in the past few games, they’ve been formidable at home. Mancini’s side will be looking to send out a message to the chasing pack and I expect a comfortable victory.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Man City HT/FT double result at around 1.9: 6 points
Friday’s Return: +3.9 points
