It seems a long time ago that Coventry were mixing it with the big boys in the Premier League and, having suffered relegation from the Championship last year, things are yet to look up for the Sky Blues. Caretaker bosses Richard Shaw and Lee Carsley are still looking for their side’s first league win of the season and unbeaten Stevenage will surely cause them problems at the Ricoh Arena.
Having played out three draws in their first three league games, Coventry lost to Crewe last weekend and, while an epic Football League trophy win over Burton Albion will have buoyed confidence ahead of the lunchtime tie, the lack of goals will be a concern.
Stevenage sit in the play-off zone after a strong start to the season which has seen Gary Smith’s side win two and draw two of their four league games. They have ground out 1-0 wins away to Oldham and Leyton Orient already this term and a similar result looks on the card today.
