PREVIEW
Sunderland have an opportunity to extend their unbeaten run at the Stadium of Light this evening when Norwich make the trip north to Wearside. The Black Cats have strung together a run of five straight games without defeat at home and the club have slowly started to climb the table.
O’Neill has made an immediate impact during his time at Sunderland, but he’ll face a stern test from one of the surprise packages of the league. The Black Cats were held to a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on Sunday, but they can count themselves a little unfortunate after a goal was controversially disallowed.
Norwich were tipped to go down at the start of the campaign, but Paul Lambert’s side continue to pick up important results when needed. Simeon Jackson’s late goal dumped West Brom out of the cup and before that the Canaries held Chelsea to a goalless draw at Carrow Road. The Canaries took the lead at the Hawthorns and BETDAQ are offering commission back if they do so again this evening.
Those two recent results meant that Norwich remain undefeated in 2012 and they’ve yet to taste defeat away from home since 3rd December 2011 – a 5-1 defeat to the league leaders.
The games are coming up thick and fast at the moment and Lambert’s smaller squad might be starting to feel the legs go a little. Sunderland have been very impressive under new management and they look a good price at 1.86 on BETDAQ to end Norwich’s undefeated start to the year.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Sunderland at around 1.86: 4 points
Tuesday’s Return: -5 points
