NAP AND DOUBLE UP: Daqman landed his nap, Ted Spread (WON 5-4), at Taunton yesterday and doubled it with Dildar (WON 8-15). Today he analyses the Betdaq-sponsored racing at Kempton Park but goes nap at Newcastle, the only surviving jumps card.

Kempton alone flies the flag south of the Geordie shore. Newcastle is the lone jumps survivor today, with Leicester and Ludlow both frozen out this morning, leaving Kempton Park, and its four Betdaq-sponsored races, the only meeting in the south.

The man who seemed to be beachcomber to follow on the Geordie shore today was Donald McCain; he and jockey Jason Maguire are 50% on this course and the trainer is 2-2 in the novices’ hurdle (3.20).

But his representative in that race, An Capall Mor, looks exposed and was easy to back this morning as Betdaq punters got stuck into easy Carlisle winner Tap Night.

Similarly, McCain’s handicap debutant Karrical (2.20) drifted like a dog on a raft, out to double figures, in the face of support for Right Enough, who joined Shan Valley at the head of the market.

Something must have been wrong with Bourne (1.20) at Musselburgh; the second, third and fourth of his Catterick novice success were all winners.

Mica Mika looks a big threat getting 10lb but I couldn’t find a winner in the pack when he scored at Wetherby, and he was rated 20lb behind Bourne on the Flat.

The last McCain nugget might be Bardeli (4.20) – out of an unraced sister to Denman – in the bumper but there are a lot of unexposed horses to worry about.

4.50 Kempton (Free Entry For Betdaq Members Median Auction Stakes): Robert Cowell had a 50% strike rate (five out of 10) on AW in the first month of 2012, and Cats Eyes was among those supported from the yard three weeks ago.

She ran green on that debut but is well related, has the plum draw here in a low-class field, and was a very warm order in the Betdaq market early doors.

Chaud Lapin ran second here in the same Betdaq-sponsored race (but over 6f) six weeks ago but lost the money when made favourite at Wolverhampton next time.

Sannibel ran second over 5f and 6f on her first two starts and drops back to a sprint trip here for the track’s leading trainer, with David Probert booked.

5.20 Kempton (Betdaq Multiples Handicap): Jim Crowley needs one more winner for the 100 in four years at Kempton Park: King Of Windsor is his only mount this evening.

King Of Windsor makes the long trek from Lanarkshire for trainer Keith Dalgleish, who is flying high with three winners and two placed in the last week or so.

Crowley rode ‘King’ to finish third, beaten less than a length, in a higher grade at Lingfield six weeks back, and the gelding is a stone lower than his best mark on turf for a class-2 at Ascot.

Buxfizz is back to this winning trip and off the same mark; Consider Yourself ‘could be anything’ in this grade as a winning filly in France; Focail Maith won at Kempton 10 days ago and keeps his form fairly well (holds Lisahane Bog); Megalala loves the track but is getting on a bit now and likes his own way.

The early punt was The Mongoose for David Evans, who has had 16 placed (six winners) from 38 starters in the last two weeks; The Mongoose is just coming to form.

5.50 Kempton (Back or Lay At betdaq.com Handicap): I can’t have Gay Gallivanter (0-18 but holds Henry’s Hero), Ocean Countess (0-14 on AW) Emerald Royal (0-10), Cairanne, Harvest Mist or Five Cool Kats (all 0-9).

And I shall put a line through the old boys Le Reveur (no wins, no places in England), Sunset Boulevard (scores only at Lingfield) and Teen Ager (trainer hasn’t had a winner for 158 days).

I’m left with By Implication (beaten a total of 85 lengths last three starts); Chandrayaan (not won for more than two years) and the starter’s hack. I’ll take the hack.

6.20 Kempton (Betdaq Mobile Apps Handicap): Sylvester Kirk has four winners on the board already in 2012, including Liquid Sunshine who sprang a 16-1 surprise in an eponymous Betdaq Mobile Apps Handicap at last week’s Kempton meeting.

The difference is that last week’s race was over a mile and this rush to beat the handicapper from an outside draw, dropped back to a sprint trip, doesn’t appeal, despite Jimmy Fortune’s booking.

And the forecast favourites flip-flopped this morning: Richard Fahey, going for the hat-trick after his last two runners won on Tuesday night at Wolverhampton, saw his Gone By Sunrise take over the market lead, despite being claimed off in his first handicap.

Jamie Osborne has just hit three wins out of eight in 10 days and his Clodhopper takes promising maiden form into her handicap debut.

Willow Beauty was a dog on a raft this morning and there’s no money yet for Chart, as I write. So maybe some Clodhopper (11.5) can win it, if she’s home by Sunrise.
