Ashleigh Barty takes on Petra Kvitova in the China Open Quarter Final on Friday morning (scheduled to start 3am).

The head to head stats favour Kvitova, who holds a 4-1 advantage 0 although Barty did win their last encounter in the Miami Masters and of the pair is certainly the one on an upward career progression.
However, despite being ranked world #1 Barty made plenty of mistakes in her latest three-set win here over Saisai Zheng.
She lost the second set after a series of unforced errors and was 6-1 down in the tie-break before putting pressure back on Zheng who served out the set.
Despite winning the 2019 French Open, there still seems to plenty of vulnerability about Barty’s game and she may again struggle against her nemesis Kvitova who progressed with a much smoother 6-3 6-3 win over Belinda Bencic and might just have the greater experience to come through this close encounter.
