The last time Aston Villa played Liverpool they ran out most impressive 3-1 winners at Anfield, but then promptly went to Chelsea and were spanked 8-0 before losing their next two games 4-0 and 3-0.
Villa are just above the relegation spots but host the Reds today on the back of successive wins over fellow strugglers Reading and Queens Park Rangers. They’ve also only lost just one of their last four versus Brendan Rodgers’ team but the Villans have not won three successive Premier League matches since April 2010.
Paul Lambert has also won all three of his Premier League games against Brendan Rodgers. Christian Benteke continues in good form and has scored eight goals in his last ten Premier League appearances – he also netted twice against Liverpool earlier this season and will be a thorn in their side once more.
However, the Reds have a dangerman of their own in the league’s top-scorer Luis Suárez . The Uruguayan has scored 11 goals in his last 11 Premier League appearances.
Liverpool do throw in more than the odd shocker, as the 3-1 reverse at Southampton last time out testifies to, but they are generally progressive and had banged in 12 goals in their previous three matches.
Take them to regain their form in a high-scoring game with over 2.5/3 goals at around 1.9 on BETDAQ.
