7.45pm What a great game for a Friday night before Christmas! Looking at the table, this is a massive game. Liverpool are currently in fourth position on 34 points, while Arsenal sit just one point behind them in fifth on 33 – what a boost it would be for either side to get the win here! Fourth position in the table seems to be the best either will achieve, so there’s everything to play for.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Arsenal 2.54, Liverpool 2.92 and the draw is 3.65. Arsenal have a fantastic record at home, winning 13 of their last 14 home games – their only blip coming against Manchester United where they bossed most of the game. Their style of play could suit Liverpool though, who always perform better when given space in the middle of the park and the other side attack more. Having said that though, the 2.54 on Arsenal still looks too big.
This should be a very entertaining affair and we expect plenty of action in front of goal. The markets agree though, with over 2.5 goals only trading 1.56 at the time of writing. We could see more than three goals – given that seven of the last eight meetings between these sides had four goals or more! This is set up to be a cracker – with Arsenal’s great form at home we can’t ignore the 2.54 and that will be our best bet.
