Newcastle would have been delighted to pick up a desperately needed three points against West Ham before this fixture. That meant they sat in 15th position over Christmas compared to the bottom three – many punters would have fancied West Ham to beat them having home advantage too.
It’s difficult to see anything but an easy Manchester City win here. Prior to the West Ham game, Newcastle had gone nine games without a win – losing eight of those games. They’ve lost their last four games at home, and no Premier League club seems to have an answer to City at the moment! City have won their last ten games away from home, and scored plenty of goals along the way too.
City are currently trading 2.2 -2 goals on the Asian Handicap (stakes void if they win by exactly two) and given both sides form at the moment, City should easily cover that handicap. Newcastle have struggled for goals, and City can’t stop scoring them – we see only one way traffic here.
