SMASHING NAP: SHAMROCK’S NAP and ONLY BET SMASHING won the Listed Chase at Thurles yesterday at 9/10. Much better morning odds on BETDAQ.

The daring strategy of opposing two Willie Mullins runners in a four horse race at Thurles yesterday paid off when the Henry de Bromhead trained Smashing won the Listed Thurles Racecourse Supporters Club Chase by five lengths. The main, Mullins trained, danger Avant Tout was a faller three out when moving into second. I think Smashing had his measure but then again I probably would say that !!!

It was a one bet – one winner day and hopefully can be the start of another winning weekend following on from SHAMROCK’S SIX WINNING BETS OUT OF SIX last weekend.

Before the weekend’s fayre we have the usual starter at Dundalk tonight on the Polytrack.

The maiden at 7.00 looks the best option for punters with the handicaps looking particularly trappy tonight.

There’s precious little between Jimmy Kelly and Wheels Of Fortune on course and distance form from December. I fancy JK to come out on top tonight. He went on to finish third over ten furlongs here and although was a beaten favourite it was still a good effort over a trip that probably stretched him too far.

The Kevin Condon trained Pharadelle is hard to assess and ran well at Lingfield but was noted as having an awkward head carriage on that occasion.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Jimmy Kelly (7.00 Dundalk)
