SHAMROCK NOW 3 FROM 4 NAPS THIS WEEK: SHAMROCK landed his third winning NAP of the week on Thursday. He now looks ahead to racing at Kilbeggan this evening.
Keep a close eye on the weather. As one sage put it on twitter this morning “the going could be anything in-between firm and heavy this weekend”.
The ground at the Curragh is still on the fast side, despite overnight rain ahead of the Darley Irish Oaks meeting.
General manager Paul Hensey said: “We had 3.1 millimetres of rain overnight. The ground is good to firm, firm in places on the round course.”
I landed the third nap of the week but it came on a horse that was backed off the boards. Ebadani made all the running to win by six lengths and finally lose his maiden tag – but at 1/3 we didn’t exactly get rich.
SHAMROCK’S NAPS THIS WEEK:
Monday: Palace (NAP) WON 11/8
Tuesday: Stay De Night (NAP LAY) lost
Wednesday: Tarziyna (NAP) WON 15/8
Thursday: Ebadani (NAP) WON 1/3
Jumping at Kilbeggan tonight where the ground is good, good to firm in places.
In the Coola Maiden Hurdle at 6.25 the faster conditions should suit Power Hound. The Noel Meade trained four-year-old won twice on good ground on the flat when trained by Andrew Balding and ran three good races over jumps on ground that was probably too testing.
