NOW FOR NAP NUMBER FOUR: SHAMROCK bids for his fourth winning nap in a row on Monday and heads to the mixed card at Roscommon.

Ol’ Man River was never going to be a big price but I kept the NAPS ball rolling when he won the Beresford Stakes at the Curragh at 1/2.

After the race winning trainer Aidan O’Brien said: “He’s open to all those races like the Dewhurst and the Racing Post Trophy, but it’s not a must. He’s had two runs now and I wouldn’t worry if he didn’t run again this year. He knows enough now, but the lads will decide.”

Looking further ahead, Ol’Man River was available at 8/1 with Ladbrokes this morning on their ante-post book for next year’s Epsom Derby.

I promised the start of the sequence and it’s now three naps in a row !!

Fri: Afonso De Sousa (NAP) WON 4/5
Sat: Tom’s Article (NAP) WON 11/8
Sun: Ol’ Man River (NAP) WON 1/2

The O’Brien team should strike at Roscommon this afternoon with A Greater Force who looks to have an outstanding chance in the maiden at 3.05.

Despite the big field this doesn’t look too strong in depth and the grey can strike.

He’s had two runs now and A Greater Force built on his debut to run a close third over this trip at Listowel last time out and is the clear pick here.

The son of Montjeu cost €525,000 and will hopefully get a very small slice back of that today.
