TWO OUT OF TWO FOR SHAMROCK: Our man in Ireland had the perfect day yesterday when BOTH his bets obliged in the big races at Punchestown and Cork.
Pleasing set of results yesterday with the nap DON COSSACK (WON 13/8) triumphant in the John Durkan at Punchestown and the only other recommended bet of the day, a place bet on DAYS HOTEL (3rd 10/1) coming up trumps in the big race at Cork.
I am now onto a NAPS HAT-TRICK but there’s no Irish racing until Dundalk on Wednesday.

There was early drama in the John Durkan when Baily Green and Rathlin both fell at the same fence and Don Cossack was able to dominate from the front after that.
Winning trainer Gordon Ellliott said after the race: “That’s great. He deserves that in fairness to him. He’s always gotten plenty of stick and people have said he’s been disappointing, but he’s a dual Grade One winner now. I’ll have to talk to Michael and Eddie (O’Leary), but if I had my way he wouldn’t run until Cheltenham and go straight for the Ryanair. I have to discuss it with the owners as they have a lot of horses. He won’t go to the King George.”
