NAAS MONDAY ACTION: SHAMROCK looks ahead to Monday’s Naas card where there are two Group and two Listed races on the card.
The Coolmore Camelot Irish EBF Mooresbridge Stakes is the feature race on this afternoon’s Naas card at 3.55pm.
The Group 2 contest has attracted seven runners and is sure to be more competitive than 12 months ago when Minding strolled to success as the 1/3 favourite.
Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore team up again, this time with Cliffs Of Moher who has the benefit of a start this season and although he was last of five over course and distance in the Group 3 Alleged Stakes he was’t beaten far and the better ground should be more to his preference.
You could argue he’s been disappointing since finishing second to stablemate Wings Of Eagles in the Epsom Derby last season but he was campaigned subsequently exclusively at Group 1 level and this ease in grade, on better ground, might bring about an overdue win.
The Kevin Condon trained Success Days isn’t far behind on official ratings and he is another who looks more Group 2 than Group 1 grade. He finished stone last in both the Champion Stakes at Ascot and Leopardstown is having his seasonal reappearance here.
