NAAS NAP ON SUNDAY: Shamrock heads to Naas to make up for a poor run from Saturday’s nap in a race where there was a massive springer.

One Fine Day, my nap yesterday, was disappointing at Cork, finishing fourth to the gambled on Dalasiri in the 12.40.

Actually ‘gambled on’ doesn’t really do it justice. Dalasiri had shown very little on debut and was backed off the boards from 66/1 into 9/2 on course and three figure odds matched on BETDAQ. The horse bolted home over the same distance, same jockey and same ground as he faced on debut when 11th of 17.

Hopefully the winners at Naas today will be slightly easier to find in the formbook.

At the time I was a little disappointed with Champagne Fever in the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse when he finished second to Jezki, but given that the winner has followed up in style by winning another Grade 1 at Leopardstown the form looks rock solid and Champagne Fever should get back on the winning trail in the Grade 2 Slaney Novices Hurdle at Naas this afternoon.

At around 1.31 on BETDAQ we’re not getting rich – but the dual Champion bumper winner looks the bet on the card and I need a confidence booster after the head scratcher yesterday 😉

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Champagen Fever (1.35 Naas)
