SHAMROCK JOINS IN DUNDALK GAMBLES: Shamrock was on the money horse, Arnaud, yesterday but it let him down for a fifth consecutive nap. Undeterred, he joins in two morning gambles on BETDAQ for Dundalk this evening.

The money went down this morning. Though it’s a race of five last-day winners, punters were in no doubt this morning that Caprella (8.20 Dundalk) is the one.

Curragh trainer Paul Deegan, who has won this race twice in four seasons, warned last year that Caprella would be a bit special in her second season.

And this morning the 6-1 paper forecast Kheleyf filly stepped over Ballydoyle’s Thomasgainsborough, David Wachman’s dual winner Precious Dream and Ger Lyons’ Piri Wango to take the market lead on BETDAQ at 3.0.

They also smashed into another filly, Kevin Prendergast’s Ahaaly (6.50), who went odds-on, with 10.0 bar two. Her only rival in BETDAQ exchanges was Wasabi’s House at 5.0.

Neither one of the two are well drawn but the low-stalled horses are seemingly a poor lot, so I took some Wasabi’s House, thinking it a two-horse race.

I can probably save on Ahaaly later on, or during the race, at around even money. I’ll put them both in my Daq Trio, which gives you five doubles and two trebles.

Tommy Stack, who has had nine consecutive runners finish in the frame, can’t help but make it 10, since Dylanbaru (6.20) is in a four-horse race.
