CORK NAP FROM SHAMROCK ON SATURDAY: SHAMROCK went close with his NAP on Friday – Manalapan who was beaten only a head at 6/1. He heads to Cork for his NAP today.
It felt a little bit like hitting the wire on the treble 20 last night with Manalapan at Dundalk. The nap came so close to winning and was beaten just a head by Paene Magnus. Frustratingly we got the hard job right in taking on the odds-on favourite Afonso De Sousa who was third.
With colleague DAQMAN focused on the big race Champions Day card at Ascot I’m staying in Ireland for the action from Cork.
The feature race on the card is the corkracecourse.ie Navigation Stakes (Listed) at 4.20.
It’s hard to look beyond the obvious here with Brendan Brackan who is comfortably rated the best horse in the race, even allowing for his penalty for his win in the Group 3 Solonaway Stakes at the Curragh last time out where he stayed on well to beat Ansfar by two lengths.
These are his ideal conditions today, a mile with some cut in the ground and at around 2.6 on BETDAQ is the nap on the card for me.
