The PWC Champion Chase (Grade 2) is the highlight of a good card at Gowran Park with Sizing Europe bidding to win the races for a third successive year.
He was an easy winner of this last year when sent off the 11/10 favourite and had a really good season only tasting defeat twice at the hands of the exceptional Sprinter Sacre in the Champion Chases at both Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals.
Despite now being an 11-year-old he is showing no signs of loss of ability and should be able to outclass his rivals here – all of whom need to find improvement to beat Sizing.
We’ll strike early (hopefully!) with the nap. Guitar Pete in the opener impressed on his hurdling debut at Listowel and should be able to follow-up in this company and confirm the form with Lindenhurst who was second at Listowel.
