NAAS GRADE 3: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the feature race at Naas this afternoon which has attracted just four runners but two look particularly interesting.

The run of naps came to a (hopefully) temporary end last night when Jamesie finished second at Dundalk.

The big race at Naas this afternoon – the Grade 3 Fishery Lane Hurdle – has attracted just four runners and looks to be a match between Gwencily Berbas and Petite Parisienne, both of whom have lengthy absences to overcome.

The Willie Mullins trained Petite Parisienne is preferred. She got bogged down in heavy ground at Auteuil when last seen in a Grade 1 hurdle. She had previously stormed home to win the Grade 1 Champion Four Year Old Hurdle at the Punchestown Festival. She is officially rated 5lb superior to Gwencily Berbas and receives her sex allowance against him today. Gwencily Berbas impressed when winning a Grade 2 juvenile hurdle at Fairyhouse before going on to finish 9th to Qualando under a big weight in the Fred Winter at the Cheltenham Festival.
