Fri: TAKE COVER (NAP) WON 3/1
Aidan O’Brien has three runners in this afternoon’s feature, the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster, but Foundation who bids to give John Gosden a first win in the race might well prove a tough nut to crack.
In Ireland, racing comes from Leopardstown and the feature race is the Group 3 Killavullan Stakes at 3.30.
O’Brien also has a triple challenge here but the clear pick of his runners is Black Sea who followed up a promising Gowran Park debut with an easy enough win in a Curragh maiden last time out. It’s hard to be too certain how good he is (he beat a 100/1 shot at the Curragh) but is clearly going the right way.
He may find a tough opponent today in the form of Blue De Vega who was third on debut at Dundalk before scoring really easily at Naas last time out when he travelled supremely well throughout the race. The Michael O’Callaghan trained runner can end the recent big stable monopoly in this event.
