FINAL DAY OF GALWAY: And SHAMROCK NAPS a horse in the opener who is having his THIRD run at Galway this week!

I wonder whether Mounira is another Almela ??

Almela won the maiden fillies race on debut for Dermot Weld last year by a staggering 19 lengths and this year the master of Ballybrit relies on debutant Mounira in the same race.

She’s certainly bred to do the job and her job has been made easier with the three non runners but there’s a couple here who have already shown half-decent form and I can’t be backing a debutant in a race likes this – even with the Weld Factor.

Weld will be short odds to close the meeting with a winner through First Figaro who has been highly tried and should find this easier although I thought An Caisteal Nuadh won well on debut at Limerick and could give the favourite a race.

A sporting Sunday nap is Camlann in the opener for me at around 8 on BETDAQ at the time of writing.

Win and place looks a good option. Incredibly, he is racing for the THIRD time this week here but is taking the exertions well and was a good third in a handicap here on Thursday and will be suited by the longer trip today.
