WATCH OUT FOR OBSERVER
⭕ 5.15 Perth This looks easier for Casual Observer with the defection of both Loulou Madrik and Nights In Venice who would have both been at the front end of the market.
Casual Observer has shown promise in both his chase starts to date and may improve for both the step up in distance and better ground.
Jirko has finished in the frame in all five of his chase starts to date but has twice been a beaten favourite and probably needs a little more help from the handicapper than the 2lb he gets today.
RED ALL ABOUT IT
⭕ 7.30 Southwell It’s single digit field sizes for all eight races at Southwell but the racing remains fairly competitive on the Betdaq Betting Exchange.
Red Spells Danger stands out on his turf form and faces by far his easiest task to date here after competing at class 2 level in four of his five races. He has run with credit in all of his races so far and on paper at least should find this class 5 level a breeze.
Ay Up Duck didn’t really build on his promising debut here over seven furlongs when an odd-on second over five furlongs last time out. The switch back to seven may help but he doesn’t look the easiest of rides having hung right in both starts.
A bigger danger may come from Got The Booty who ran a solid race over six furlongs here last time out when just coming up short against Jumeirah Sands but the pair pulled nicely clear.
MOO FOR A COUP
⭕ 8.30 Southwell Moostar takes a slight drop in class after finishing a promising second to Keldeo at Catterick earlier in the month and should be able to gain an overdue second career success to reward her recent consistency. The tongue tie seems to have eked out some improvement and this doesn’t look the strongest of heats.
Raft Up probably found the seven furlongs too much last time and might do better back over six but a bigger danger might be Fircombe Hall who is really consistent at this level.
