THREE NAPS OUT OF FIVE: SHAMROCK made it a profitable week at Royal Ascot with three winning naps out of five.
Turned into a good week at Royal Ascot with THREE WINNING NAPS FROM FIVE:
Wednesday: HIGHLAND REEL (NAP) WON 9/4
Friday: CARAVAGGIO (NAP) WON 5/6
Saturday: SEPTEMBER (NAP) WON 11/8
The ones that got away were Churchill and Order Of St George. At the start of the week, if I had to pick two to definitely win from the five, it would probably have been them – funny old game at times.
Back to normality now and a quiet Sunday with just racing from Gowran Park.
The last race looks the most interesting but I couldn’t find an angle in.
In the maiden at 4.05 I prefer the chances of the Dermot Weld trained Switch In Time to Aidan O’Brien’s Spanish Steps.
Switch In Time was a good course and distance third last time out and might do even better on the quicker surface and with that run under her belt.
Spanish Steps was a beaten odds-on favourite at Cork last time out in a race where the front two pulled nine lengths clear but might find the filly too smart today.
