SHAMROCK STRIKES WITH 9/4 WINNING NAP: SHAMROCK had just the one bet yesterday – his NAP Tarfasha in the Group race at Naas who won comfortably at 9/4. It’s now three winning naps from the last five.
Tarfasha was a late drifter at Naas last night but it didn’t stop her winning the Group 3 Blue Wind Stakes to land my nap at 9/4. I was very taken with her performance and it’s interesting to see the money on BETDAQ for her for the Oaks on the back of that success.
As for Dermot Weld – perhaps a standing order backing his horses blind at the moment ???
A big day at York today with the Dante Stakes the feature race but no representative from Ireland this year. Perhaps True Story has scared away all the opposition ?
It’s a busy night of jumping at Tipperary with an eight race card starting at 4.55 and 140 runners to sort out !!
The opening maiden might be big on quantity but can very quickly be whittled down to a match between Cillian’s Return and Patsio – the top two on the racecard and in the BETDAQ market.
Both are making their jumping debuts after showing promise in flat races. Patsio was a winner in heavy ground at Limerick beating Arctic Skipper by half a length but the third horse that day, Texas Tea, didn’t do too much to boost that form when sixth, here at Tipperary, on his most recent start.
Preference has to be for Cillian’s Return who beat Vigil at Fairyhouse on New Years Day and Vigil subsequently went on to win at Leopardstown and then run a cracker in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival when fifth to Silver Concorde. That makes the form of Cillian’s Return look rock solid. We just need to find out tonight if he can jump.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Cillian’s Return (4.55 Tipperary)
