SIZING UP CHRISTMAS OPTIONS: The ground will determine whether Sizing Europe runs at Leopardstown over Christmas.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without him but Sizing Europe’s intended Christmas appearance is down to the ground.
His trainer Henry de Bromhead is reporting that the eight-times Grade One winner is in the right kind of form for another crack at the PP Dial-A-Bet Chase on December 27 – the race he won two years ago.
De Bromhead told the Irish Times: “I will have to talk to Ann and Alan (Potts, owners) and we will weigh things up and see what the ground will be like. He wouldn’t want it testing. But if it is suitable, I would imagine he would run. He’s in good form at the moment. He was very quiet, for him, after Clonmel but we’ve freshened him up since.”
Sizing Europe returned with a win at Gowran Park this season but the 12-year-old put in a laboured effort in the subsequent Clonmel Oil Chase.
