T20 WORLD CUP: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Friday’s T20 World Cup match between AFGHANISTAN V PAKISTAN with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
MATCH OVERVIEW:
The T20 World Cup continues on Friday with another double header, however I’m happy to focus on Afghanistan taking on Pakistan on BETDAQ Betting Exchange because Bangladesh v West Indies looks a low quality affair in Group 1 with both sides losing their two opening games. Group 2 is getting more interesting with each passing day as Pakistan have won their two opening games against India and New Zealand. Afghanistan won their opening fixture against Scotland, and that leaves India and New Zealand a little under pressure. Certainly this game is big for them, and they’ll be hoping Pakistan win.
An Afghanistan win would definitely spice things up and put both India and New Zealand under pressure to get into the top two – I am presuming everyone beats Scotland and Namibia so it could come down to net run rate. Given Pakistan’s strong start, they can actually afford to lose this game – however a win here would close the door on any chance of them falling out of the top two spots. There’s no getting away from the fact that Pakistan have been one of the most impressive sides at the World Cup, the only other side who come close is England in the other group. Afghanistan have a number of star players though, and this should be an excellent game to enjoy on Friday afternoon.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
We’re back in Dubai again and Pakistan will enjoy being back here after they chased down India’s 151/7 without losing a wicket! That being said, they held New Zealand to 134/8 in Sharjah and chased that down easily too. Afghanistan started with the highest score of the tournament but we must remember that came against Scotland. I still feel a par score is around 165/170 here, we have just yet to see the ideal conditions. West Indies have batted first twice here, India lost early wicket against Pakistan – nothing has gone right for the batting side – hence why I’d bowl first, no question, if I won the toss.
RECOMMENDED BET:
Pakistan come into this game in flying form and heavy favourites. There’s no doubt that they have been impressive, but Afghanistan are a very classy side. I feel there is too much of a gap between the prices here and Afghanistan look the value at around 3.8. They have top class spinners in their side, and I’d love to see how the Pakistan middle order cope with them should they lose early wickets. Look, Pakistan are the better side but should they be 1.34? I think that’s too short and really underrates how good Afghanistan are. A small value play on Afghanistan looks the call.
The Edge Says:
One point win Afghanistan to beat Pakistan at 3.8 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
While I do feel Pakistan will be under-priced for the whole game here and that will make trading difficult if, like me, you fancy Afghanistan there will be some opportunity here. I definitely want to take on the Pakistan middle order with the Afghanistan spinners – they are top class and Pakistan have been winning so easy I would suggest the middle order is yet to be tested. There’s always a collapse around the corner with Pakistan! Also, so far bowling first has definitely looked like an edge here so I would be supporting the team bowling first and looking for trades on them while staying away from the batting side first – it would be ideal if Afghanistan bowled, but let’s see.
