MATCH OVERVIEW:
Another week begins at the Indian Premier League on Monday and we’re back in Dubai as Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Rajasthan Royals. It’s been a very dramatic weekend on BETDAQ Betting Exchange and the wickets have been quite difficult for scoring. I must say I am a little surprised by that considering how good the wickets were last season here, but perhaps we will see the best wickets at the T20 World Cup which is also being hosted in the UAE this year. We saw two very low scores at the weekend from these two.
Sunrisers Hyderabad could only managed 120/7 trying to chase down Punjab Kings 125/7 and then Rajasthan Royals could only manage 121/6 trying to chase down Delhi Capitals 154/6. I have to say I really don’t like the look of Sunrisers Hyderabad at the moment, and if they are failing to chase 125 against Punjab Kings then they have a long season ahead. It’s obvious something weird is going on in the dressing room given they dropped Warner in India, and now they lost Jonny Bairstow their best batsman is gone too. It’s going to be a long road ahead. That being said, Rajasthan are without Ben Stokes or Jos Buttler in the UAE.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
Based on what we have saw thus far at the IPL this season, I would suggest Dubai is the best ground for batting at the moment. I think we’ll see the biggest scores here. I was expecting a high scoring game from Sunrisers Hyderabad at the weekend because it was at Sharjah, but it looks like Sharjah will be low scoring this IPL season now. I feel par is around 165 in Dubai at the moment, but I would reduce that down here because these two sides have poor batting line-ups on paper and Sunrisers Hyderabad have been very poor with the bat this season. If I won the toss, I’d bat first.
RECOMMENDED BET:
This is going to be a low quality affair in my opinion, and it’s also a game for small stakes. I just can’t see how Sunrisers Hyderabad win a game at the moment given their form with the bat. Their bowlers performed very well at the weekend and they still managed to throw away the game. Rashid Khan will be their star, but I’m happy to go against him and back Rajasthan Royals at around 1.75. Both sides are poor, but at least Rajasthan Royals have been in the runs in the UAE with 185 against Punjab Kings.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
With both sides having questionable batting, I wouldn’t want to have a big stake on either while they bat. Generally batting first has offered a slight edge in Dubai and given the grounds look tricky for batting and scores have been reasonably low in general, I would favour the side batting first. I’d be happy to go against Sunrisers Hyderabad whenever they bat however as they have looked so poor – they just look out of form. While Rajasthan Royals bat, I’m happy to look for trades on Sunrisers Hyderabad when Rashid Khan bowls, but only when he is bowling. This could be a very tricky game with both sides playing poorly so it’s a game to trade carefully.
