PERTH SCORCHERS v ADELAIDE STRIKERS: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews the Big Bash clash with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
MATCH OVERVIEW:
While all eyes are on The Ashes in Australia, we do have a fantastic Big Bash tournament going on too! We have a huge double header on Saturday, with all cricket bets 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange.. I’m going to focus on the second game that starts at 10-30am UK time as the Perth Scorchers host the Adelaide Strikers. Both sides have made a positive start to the tournament, with Perth Scorchers winning their opening game while Adelaide Strikers have won one and lost one.
The Adelaide Strikers will probably feel a little unlucky that they didn’t chase down the Melbourne Renegades 153/9 and make a winning start to the tournament, but they bounced back nicely in the second meeting of the sides a couple of days later in Adelaide. I have to say I know we have some fixtures like that closer together with Covid19, but I didn’t enjoy it last season and still feel they should be more spaced out – it doesn’t feel like a proper league which runs over weeks otherwise.
Perth Scorchers faced Brisbane Heat in their opening fixture and they won by 6 runs. Brisbane are generally a pretty weak side, so while we won’t read too much into that – Perth look like a strong side and should be a force in the tournament. It will be interesting to see can the Adelaide batting cope with the Perth bowling.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
This is the second game here. With Perth scoring 157/6 in the first game and Brisbane Heat getting bowled out for 151 in reply. The wicket looked a little different to last season, and I would go into this game with an open mind to be honest. We had five games here last season with the average score 172. We had 185 scored twice and the lowest score was 139. Apart from that 139 which is obviously a below par score, every other game the team who batted first won. I would suggest it’s slight edge batting first here as it does look tricky to chase. Chris Lynn faced 33 balls in the opening game and didn’t hit a six, which is unlike him.
RECOMMENDED BET:
This should be a good game to enjoy, but I expect Perth Scorchers to edge it. They are a very impressive side when they have home advantage, and I feel what will be the difference here is the Perth Scorchers bowling against the Adelaide Strikers batting. I have to say although they have got a win, the Adelaide Strikers batting is definitely questionable. They probably should have lost against the Melbourne Renegades given the score they posted, but the Melbourne Renegades have very questionable batting too! Credit to the Striker bowlers for that win, but on a decent batting surface in Perth I feel the Perth batting will win the day.
The Edge Says:
One point win Perth Scorchers to beat Adelaide Strikers at 1.65 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
I mentioned the main two in-running strategies above, but it’s best to highlight them again here. In my pitch report, I highlighted how batting first was a definite edge here last season. I would keep an open mind in regard to that going into this game, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind. This game starts a little later than usual, so perhaps the lights will effect both innings. Another angle here is the Perth Scorchers bowlers against the Adelaide Strikers batters. I feel this Adelaide side has a much stronger bowling line-up compared to their batters, and I’ll be keen to take on their batters. Ideally we could take them on in the second innings.
