SATURDAY IN EUROPE: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Saturday’s games between BAYERN MUNICH v MAINZ, WOLFSBURG v STUTTGART and ATHLETIC BILBAO v SEVILLA all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

BAYERN MUNICH V MAINZ

2.30pm It’s been a hectic week for the top sides as we had the last Matchday of the Champions League and Europa League, but we have some interesting matches on Saturday nonetheless. All football bets are 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange today, and there’s three games I want to take a look at. We start in the Bundesliga with the Germany Champions Bayern Munich hosting Mainz. Bayern kept their excellent recent record against Barcelona going midweek in the Champions League, dumping the Spanish club into the Europa League. It’s been an excellent little run for Bayern actually, they recorded a huge 3-2 win last weekend against Dortmund – landing a Max Bet for us and also going four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga. Mainz have been very impressive this season, and they started the weekend sitting in 7th which is quite high for them, but obviously there’s still a huge gulf in class between the sides here and the market has Bayern priced at 1.25.

This should be a smooth home win for the German Champions, and perhaps it’s more of a case of how many goals will Bayern score rather than will they win. Mainz can definitely hold their own and they will attack back. We could have a very open game here with a host of goals. Mainz generally like to play an end-to-end game. They don’t create a huge amount of chances or concede a huge amount either, but it’s just generally consistent chances at either end. Bayern kept a clean sheet against Barcelona midweek, but they have been conceding goals in the Bundesliga this season – they have been scoring more, but still. I can see a 3-1 or 4-2 kind of game here, and Both Teams To Score looks good value at 1.72.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Both Teams To Score at 1.72 with BETDAQ Exchange.

WOLFSBURG V STUTTGART

5.30pm We stay in the Bundesliga next as Wolfsburg host Stuttgart. Wolfsburg come into the game on a little losing run in all competitions, but they are my most confident bet of the day to beat an average Stuttgart side. Stuttgart are in a relegation fight this season, and although they are more than likely too good to go down, they looked in real trouble before they got a much needed win against Mainz and drew with Hertha Berlin. Both of those positive results came at home, but they still didn’t play well. They only created an xG of 0.28 against Mainz while conceding 1.24 and again the conceded a bigger xG against Hertha Berlin. They have huge issues this season, and their performance level can only be described as poor. Wolfsburg come into this game off the back of four losses in all competitions, and perhaps if they could have arrived here in better form they would have been a Max Bet for me at 1.9.

As it is now, they are just a confident bet and not quite a Max Bet. They have had a reasonably tough fixture list to be fair – they’ve had to play Sevilla and Dortmund, along with Lille who topped their Champions League Group. The amount of chances they have conceded during this little run is concerning, but given the lack of quality from Stuttgart I feel they can essentially “get away with it” today against a side who is very limited going forward. Perhaps this would be an ideal time to take on Wolfsburg against a better side, but the 1.9 on the home win here against a side like Stuttgart is just too big to turn down. Stuttgart sit in the relegation playoff spot on the Bundesliga xG table, and Wolfsburg can get back to winning ways here. Three points feels like the right stake given the way Wolfsburg come into the game.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Wolfsburg to beat Stuttgart at 1.9 with BETDAQ Exchange.

ATHLETIC BILBAO V SEVILLA

8pm Next we move to La Liga to finish the evening as Athletic Bilbao host Sevilla. With Barcelona and Atletico Madrid dropping off the pace in La Liga this season, Sevilla have turned into the main title contender. I don’t think they are good enough to really “challenge” Real Madrid for the title, but the opportunity is definitely there. They start the weekend sitting in second place eight points behind Real but they have a game in hand. Finishing second would be a great achievement for them to be honest and something they can hope to build on for the future. Given all the changes and drama at Barcelona this season, it may take years for them to fully recover. They face a very tough test here though against to Athletic Bilbao. I mentioned the xG table in the above Bundesliga game, well the xG La Liga table puts Athletic Bilbao into fourth. They come into this game on a winless run of seven La Liga games however, and we have a fascinating market here.

It’s no surprise that we have a very open market, but I’m not sure I’d have Athletic Bilbao as short as 2.64. I feel we should have the sides a little closer together in the market – perhaps in the 2.8 to 2.9 range with the draw the outsider. Athletic Bilbao have been unlucky on that run without a win – for example they created an xG of 2.84 when losing 1-0 to Real Madrid and then created an xG of 3.77 in a 1-1 draw with Espanyol. However, Sevilla have been just as good this season – there’s actually very little between the teams in terms of performance. Sevilla may have lost midweek in the Champions League which was very disappointing for them, but they are a tough side to beat. I feel the value play is with the Bilbao lay at the odds and having the draw on your side. I’d expect a very close game here, and Bilbao should be a little bigger in the market.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Athletic Bilbao to beat Sevilla at 2.64 with BETDAQ Exchange.
