🏆 World Cup 2026 🏆

🇺🇾 Uruguay v Cape Verde 🇨🇻

11pm Group H wraps up its second round on Sunday night as Uruguay take on Cape Verde at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on WORLD CUP 2026 Betdaq Betting Exchange! . This might have been a fixture where you would question the attendance given all the ticket drama coming into the tournament, but the crowds have been superb so far in fairness. As I said in my Group H preview, this was supposed to be a Group entirely about Spain, and yet here we are with all four teams level on a point after Matchday One. Cape Verde arrive on the back of the single greatest result in their history, while Uruguay come into this knowing a Matchday One draw with Saudi Arabia has left Marcelo Bielsa’s side facing some uncomfortable questions of their own.

It’s hard to overstate what that point against Spain means for Cape Verde. Playing in their first ever World Cup match, held the reigning European champions and tournament favourites to a goalless draw in Atlanta, it was quite the moment! Obviously just getting to the World Cup has been a fantastic achievement for Cape Verde, and this is yet another fixture where they will be expected to lose. It’s no surprise to see Uruguay come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.51 with Cape Verde 8.8 and the draw is 4.4 at the time of writing. Spain had 27 shots and 74% possession and simply could not find a way past 40-year-old goalkeeper Vozinha, who produced a string of brilliant saves – it will be the type of result that gets replayed for decades in the home country, and Cape Verde have every right to go into this one with belief rather than simply being happy to be here.

All that being said, and even allowing for the fact that Cape Verde did so well to hold Spain, I was a little surprised to see Uruguay trading as big as 1.51 when I clicked into the market. I thought they would be much shorter actually. Obviously Uruguay will be disappointed with how their opener went. They were strong favourites against Saudi Arabia at 1.47 and it’s interesting to see them trading bigger here. Bielsa himself wasn’t shy about it afterwards, admitting his side gave away chances in the first half they shouldn’t have and that Saudi Arabia were an opponent they really should have beaten. Now Uruguay know that anything other than victory here leaves them needing a big result against Spain on the final day just to be sure of getting through, and they simply must avoid that.

Uruguay were unlucky not to beat Saudi Arabia though. They finished the game with an xG of 2.97 – you couldn’t fault the performance, granted they were a little open at times at the back. Cape Verde probably don’t have the talent to take advantage of that though. Cape Verde shut up shop against one of the best sides in the world, but I still feel that the 1.51 on Uruguay is massive here. I feel we’re getting enough value for a Five Star NAP. The gulf in class is too big for that price in my opinion, and it’s not like Uruguay played poorly in their opener either. They can get the job done here.

The Ultra Says:
Five points win Uruguay to beat Cape Verde at 1.51 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
