🏆 World Cup 2026 🏆

🇳🇿 New Zealand v Egypt 🇪🇬

2am (Monday) Group G’s second round of fixtures wraps up in the early hours of Monday morning as New Zealand take on Egypt in Vancouver on WORLD CUP 2026 Betdaq Betting Exchange! . As I said in my Group G preview, this looked like a group with a clear pecking order before a ball was kicked – Belgium and Egypt as the top two and Iran and New Zealand as the bottom two. After two draws on Matchday One, this is the part where the top two are supposed to create some distance. As you would expect, Egypt come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.65 with New Zealand 6.0 and the draw is 4.2 at the time of writing.

The Belgium and Egypt game was very even, and a draw was a fair result there. As was the Iran and New Zealand game; New Zealand might say that they had the lead twice but there was actually only 0.02 between the sides on xG in a very entertaining game. You’d have to say that there was a lot of positives for both sides to take from their opening games. New Zealand will have to work much harder to score here though; they now face a side that conceded only twice in ten African qualifiers, and they’ll also back themselves to be more clinical here against weaker opposition compared to Belgium too. Obviously on paper, New Zealand were the weakest side in this Group, so they would have been quite happy with the point against Iran but they probably had to win that given they now face the top sides in their last two Group games.

The Salah subplot is impossible to ignore here too. He had a lovely assist in the opening game; he comes into this World Cup with a massive point to prove given how things ended at Liverpool and Arne Slot this season. Salah said the club had made him feel like he was being “thrown under the bus” which was a poor way to end things given he is a club legend. He looked sharp before being substituted, and there’s an obvious narrative of a player wanting to put a difficult club season behind him by going deep at a World Cup with his country. New Zealand will need to find a way to stop him supplying others if they’re going to get anything here.

WORLD CUP 2026 Betdaq Betting Exchange!

The 1.65 on Egypt is a tempting bet; they are rock solid at the back and you know New Zealand will give them chances here – as I said above, they played an open game against Iran and that will likely suit Egypt here too. Egypt have shown at times they can be undone by a sudden change of pace, and New Zealand’s willingness to commit players forward could make for an entertaining game. Over 2.5 goals is 2.26; I saw that being a little shorter before clicking into the market. However, I don’t feel it offers as much value as the Egypt win at 1.65. Not going mad with the stakes here, but I’d have Egypt shorter with the gulf in class between the sides.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Egypt to beat New Zealand at 1.65 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
