MATCH OVERVIEW:
After two winning starts over the last two days for these teams, they clash in the late game on Thursday night. Batting has looked much more difficult in the night game, and although both sides are packed with batting talent – we have to assume that conditions will be tough for batting and the bowlers will be on top!
Trinbago started very well with a win over Guyana who were very impressive last season. Guyana also got off the mark with a win yesterday and although there were bumps along the way – Trinbago always looked in control of the game. Clearly with spinning conditions it helps to have Narine in your side and he was excellent, taking two wickets and only conceded 19 runs in four overs.
Jamaica blasted their way to chasing down 158 with an over to spare but we must remember that their game came against the St Lucia Zouks. The Zouks have been terrible at defending totals and although they took early wickets, their bowling just wasn’t good enough in the middle overs and that told the story. You’d have to be a little worried about Jamaica conceding such a big total as the Zouks look poor on paper.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
So far batting has looked really tough in the late games. 153/9 wasn’t chased down in the first night game while we saw 127/8 play 131/7 last night. We can expect pretty similar conditions and it should certainly favour the spinners. You want to bat first if you win the toss as it looks pretty difficult chasing.
Everyone commented how the pitch was tricky last night, as you would expect when you see the numbers of wickets that fell. There’s some serious batting talent on display with both sides, but Narine will clearly have a huge impact for Trinbago.
RECOMMENDED BET:
This should be an excellent fixture. Both sides are slacked with talent, but I like the Trinbago price here at 1.74. Although Jamaica did well to win with their first game, it was worrying for me to see their bowling concede so many runs to the Zouks – especially considering that the Zouks collapsed at the end and should have got a much higher total.
These night games look all about the bowling, and it is Trinbago that have the better line-up in that department. Also on a tricky surface it should be difficult to hit sixes, and the Jamaica side is packed with those – although it is scary to take on Andre Russell when he gets going! Nevertheless, 1.74 is worth taking on Trinbago.
The Edge Says:
Two points win Trinbago Knight Riders to beat Jamaica Tallawahs at 1.74 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
Personally I would take a look at the conditions in the opening overs and see how the pitch is playing. If it’s obvious that batting is going to be very tough then focus on the spinners and trying to catch some trades on the bowling side. From what we know before the game starts, you definitely want to be on the side batting first and even Guyana struggled to chase a very low score here last night.
Both sides have a lot of six hitters so we can expect to see some big hits, but with spinning conditions they might fail too and I wouldn’t be looking for a massive trade on the usual six hitters if conditions played like they did last night.
