SOUTH AFRICA v ENGLAND: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Tuesday’s third and final T20 between South Africa v England with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:
England wrapped up the T20 Series on Sunday in Paarl with another pretty dominant display. It was pretty much all one way traffic on BETDAQ Betting Exchange for England. We move back to Cape Town to finish the T20 series on Tuesday and while the narrative might be that this is a dead rubber fixture for quite a few, England won’t want to release the momentum ahead of a long tour. They have managed to get on top of the South African bowlers and they will want to keep that going for the ODI series next which follows the same pattern as the T20 series in that the 1st ODI is here before moving to Paarl and back again.
South Africa could only manage 146/6 on Sunday and while England lost wickets along the way in the chase, they were always in control with Malan getting 55 runs off 40. I said before the 2nd T20 that with England’s batting line-up – there is always someone who posts a good score. The hero from the 1st T20 Bairstow was out for 3 on Sunday, but the others fired and Morgan finished off the game. This England batting is pretty incredible if they can all stay fit. The way they play the game will result in a few collapses throughout the year, but they will have more success than failure playing that attacking brand of cricket.
For South Africa, they simply need to improve with the bat. That is easier said than done however, and truth be told they have been a side in decline for a while now. Once England have been able to deal with their bowlers then it’s always going to be very difficult for South Africa to win.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
The scores dropped in Paarl on Sunday but we move back to Cape Town today and we should see another score of around 180. England were able to chase that down, but not without a few worries along the way. Given the nature of the ground and the time of the game, I’d definitely want to be aiming for 180+ batting first anyway. It would be very interesting to see England bat first, to see what they could get or how South Africa chase, as we have not seen that yet. You can’t be fully confident in the Cape Town weather but the long range forecast looks ok – make sure to check the radar close to the off.
RECOMMENDED BET:
I said after the first T20 that I couldn’t get away from England and the same applies here. If anything, my opinion has got stronger having watched the first two games. England are much the better side, especially in the batting department. I feel South Africa’s strong points is their bowling over their batting, but England have been well on top of their bowlers. Perhaps that says more about how weak South Africa have become over the last while because their bowlers on an International scene haven’t been great economy wise but their batting has been pretty poor. England again for me, this time at 1.58.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
Cape Town is always a high scoring ground in general, so I would definitely lean towards the batting side. I wouldn’t be too keen on going heavy on South Africa while batting given how they went on Sunday, but the conditions should be a little bit more helpful for the batters today. I would always have my book favouring England as they look to be so much better than South Africa.
In an ideal world, we would probably see a game very similar to the 1st T20 here. South Africa play well to get a decent score and England chase it down with a few bumps in the road along the way. That would be the best case for trading I feel. I wouldn’t mind seeing England bat first however – I think they’ll put up a pretty big score and we might see a 1.01 train if that was the case. If they batted poorly, I wouldn’t rule out them defending 155-160 against this South Africa batting and that could offer a good lay at low odds on South Africa if that situation played out.
