West Indies v England 5th T20

MATCH OVERVIEW:

It took them a while, but England finally have their confidence back with the bat. After losing the ODI series here, they were 2-0 down in the T20 series and at the innings break in the 3rd T20 they needed to chase 222/6. What a position to be in, but after successfully chasing the 222/6 they then posted 267/3 in the 4th T20 to win comfortably, and now we have a T20 series decider on Betdaq Betting Exchange to enjoy on Saturday!

It’s amazing what a bit of confidence can do to a side, and England seem transformed in the 4th T20. I would still worry about their bowling however; they conceded 192 in just 15.3 before West Indies were bowled out. Phil Salt has obviously been superb for England; back-to-back centuries in T20 cricket doesn’t happen very often! If he got out early, it might be interesting to see how the England middle order gets on given they have collapsed a few times lately. Buttler, Jacks and Brook have all chipped in though – they can’t say that they’ve been out of form after their fast knocks – all of them were close or over a strike rate of 200 in the last two games.

West Indies bowling has obviously suffered with the England batsmen finally hitting their targets, however the West Indies batting is still pretty impressive. We expected the bat to dominate the ball in this series, and that’s what is happening. England are now the clear favourites to win the series, but don’t rule out this in-form West Indies side! We have a cracking game ahead.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

The sides stay in Tarouba for the fifth and final T20. After England posted 267/3 and then West Indies replied with 192 all out in just 15.3 overs, it’s fair to say that we can expect runs here. It’s hard not to see another very high scoring game – as I said above the batters are just better than the bowling units on both sides. After such a big score batting first, I think you’d have to bat first again – that’s a lot of run rate pressure to be chasing.

RECOMMENDED BET:

The odds have been very interesting throughout this tour, and they have moved around a lot. We have more big movement here with England into 1.71 now after their last two impressive batting displays. I think that is a massive overreaction, and I’m very happy to back West Indies at 2.26. I just see this as a 50/50 game, especially with the batting conditions; it really only takes one batsmen – like Phil Salt – to come off and the game is out of reach. Both sides have been in good form with the bat, and both bowling units are there to attack in my opinion. I’m happy with a small value bet on the home side.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

Having watched the 4th T20 here, you simply have to focus solely on trades on either batting side. Obviously the side batting second could be chasing a huge target too, so you’ll have to decide at the time whether or not to open a trade there. West Indies batted well chasing a big score but ran out of wickets. I feel the best option here will be supporting the side who bats first in superb batting conditions.
