PREMIER LEAGUE SUNDAY: The Striker previews EVERTON v BRIGHTON and FULHAM v MANCHESTER UNITED in the Premier League with two recommended BETDAQ bets.
EVERTON V BRIGHTON
2pm We have another intriguing Super Sunday from the Premier League this week on Betdaq Betting Exchange!! While we might not have the hype from last Sunday as Manchester United hosted Arsenal, we do have two absolutely fascinating markets. No doubt Manchester United will be in the headlines again as they travel to take on Fulham, but we kick off the action as Everton host Brighton. Everton were quite poor on Monday Night Football away to Leeds; they didn’t create much and it’ll be interesting to see how they play here now they have home advantage. Brighton would have been disappointed with a draw at home to Fulham on the opening weekend – especially considering that they conceded in the 96th minute! However, on the stats they didn’t create a huge amount and couldn’t they that they were very lucky bar how late the equaliser arrived. The long and short of things is, both of these sides need a positive performance to get their season going. This is a massive day for Everton too; their first Premier League game in their new stadium – they were very strong at home since David Moyes returned, let’s see does that transfer to the Hill Dickinson Stadium!
It’s no surprise that we have an open betting heat here; it’s actually hard to have a huge amount of confidence in either side after their performances over the opening weekend. Brighton come into the game as the favourites at 2.44 with Everton 3.25 and the draw is 3.45 at the time of writing. It’s hard to argue with Brighton being the favourites even away from home; Everton created very little against Leeds on Monday Night Football. If I was having a bet in the match odds market though, it would be on the draw at 3.45 – I feel that’s the value shout in what should be a close game. However, both sides clearly struggled to create chances in their opening games and Under 2.5 goals looks cracking value here at 1.88. The only major worry would be Everton actually conceded a very high xG – very close to 2.0 – but they should be more solid at the back with their own fans behind them. As I said, let’s see how the home from transfers over now, but from a value point of view I’m happy with Unders at 1.88.

FULHAM V MANCHESTER UNITED
4.30pm Once again Manchester United are featured in the prime time TV slot on Super Sunday as Ruben Amorim’s men travel to take on Fulham. I have to say we have a fascinating few weeks ahead watching Manchester United – most football fans came away very positive about the performance last weekend but the reality is they still lost the game at home. Expectations wouldn’t have been too high against Arsenal, but now they face much lower quality opposition and you’d have to wonder what the narrative will be on Ruben Amorim if we get a poor United performance here. He’s already on less than a point per game and he’s getting close to 30 Premier League games! Obviously there were a huge amount of positives on the opening weekend for United, but we have seen time and time again over the past few years that United have risen their performance levels against the bigger sides and then basically not turned up against the mid-table sides. I actually feel we will learn more about this current United squad in this game than we did last weekend. Fulham are a solid side at home, and this is a good benchmark as to whether United will get anywhere close to competing for a Top Four spot this season.
I personally feel they will be well off the Top Four standard, but a lot of pundits are saying they have a good chances without European football – we’ll just have to wait and see! United come into the game as the favourites, but they aren’t trading odds on – the jury is definitely still out! United are trading 2.2 with Fulham 3.65 and the draw is also 3.65 at the time of writing. While United did impress me on the opening weekend – they were much better than I thought they would be and they created a lot of chances too – I still feel that the 2.2 is too short here. Fulham opened their season with a 1-1 draw away to Brighton and while that game wasn’t anything special, Fulham have been rock solid at home for a while now. Last season they finished with more chances created than conceded – they actually had very similar figures to United, except Fulham actually converted their chances! I feel we’ll see a very close game here to be honest, closer than the odds suggest, and from a value point of view I’m very happy to lay United at 2.2.
The Striker Says:
Two points lay (liability) Manchester United to beat Fulham at 2.2 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
