DORTMUND V HEIDENHEIM

7.30pm Domestic football returns on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE on Friday night! We have our usual Friday night football slot of one game from the Bundesliga and one from La Liga to enjoy. We kick off the action in the Bundesliga with Dortmund hosting Heidenheim – we saw plenty of photos of Jurgen Klopp back in training with Dortmund this week, some fans might have had to double take, but it was only for a friendly over the International break! As I said at the weekend, that International break came very early in the season – we only had two match days in the Bundesliga! Heidenheim fans got to live the dream for longer than usual as they sit top of the table after two wins from two games – when they were promoted last season their sole aim would have been to just stay in the Bundesliga but they actually had a superb season managing to get into the European spots in eighth. That was an incredible achievement, and they’ve started the new season superbly too. They have had an easy fixture list however, and they might get a slap of reality here. Dortmund started the season with a win but had to settle for a 0-0 draw before the International break against Werder Bremen; a game they had to finish with ten men too.

It’s fair to say that the market is expecting a comfortable home win here, even with the positive start for Heidenheim. Dortmund are trading 1.39 with Heidenheim 9.2 and the draw is 5.5 at the time of writing. While Dortmund struggled to score in their last game, they do have the best defensive figure in the Bundesliga at the moment. It’s very early days however with everyone only playing two games! Heidenheim have massively over-performed in front of goal, and it was the same last season. Despite finishing in mid-table, they actually finished with the second worst attacking figure. It’s hard to have much confidence in Heidenheim looking at the under-lining numbers, and that’s reflected in the odds on Dortmund. The market is also expecting goals; Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.56 with Both Teams To Score at 1.87. The bet I like is Dortmund to cover the 1.5 goal handicap at 2.01 – I’d personally have this a shade of odds on, although Heidenheim will be full of confidence after their start so I’m going to keep stakes low. They are definitely over-performing, but sometimes it’s hard to stop the good momentum!

The Ultra Says:
One point win Dortmund -1.5 goals to beat Heidenheim at 2.01 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

REAL BETIS V LEGANES

8pm We move over to La Liga to finish Friday night as Real Betis host Leganes. This might not be the most glamorous La Liga fixture of the weekend, but it is an interesting betting heat. Leganes have come up from the Segunda where they topped the table, but they will still have their hands full staying in La Liga given the gulf in class between the major leagues and the second tier these days. The money is football has created a huge gap now, and it’s hard to bridge. Leganes will be delighted with five points from their opening four games, but there are some red flags in their performance levels. They have had a tough fixture list – Mallorca, Real Valladolid and Las Palmas will be involved in the relegation battle and Osasuna are a mid-table side. Real Betis have had a very poor start to the season with only two points from their three games, and that leaves them close to the relegation zone for the time being. They will get away from that position as the season goes on, but their decline in recent years has been pretty obvious. They slipped down to seventh last season, that was their worst finishing position since 2019/20.

Real Betis come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.76 with Leganes 6.2 and the draw is 3.65 at the time of writing. I know it’s still early days in the season, most sides in La Liga have played four games with Real Betis only playing three – but Leganes are in the bottom three for attacking figures. They are also in the bottom seven at the back, however they have got away with things so far – they’ve basically only conceded half of the goals they should have. It’s hard to have much confidence in Real Betis with the limited goals they have scored this season – they are creating chances but obviously really struggling to convert them. I do feel that they will get the job done, but the 1.76 doesn’t jump off the page as great value here. I feel we’ll have a low quality game here, and I’m happy with a small bet on Under 2.5 goals at 1.64 – the Leganes record at the back does worry me, but obviously Real Betis have struggled to score. I’m happy with a small position here.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Under 2.5 goals at 1.64 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
