FRIDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews GENOA v BOLOGNA and GIRONA v GRANADA both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
GENOA V BOLOGNA
7.45pm It’s the final weekend of the European domestic season, and Friday night football on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE comes from Serie A and La Liga. The highlight this week was undoubtedly the Europa League Final with Atalanta shocking Bayer Leverkusen to win it for Italy, and we also have the German Cup this weekend to enjoy before the Champions League Final next weekend. We kick off Friday night in Serie A as Genoa host Bologna – we saw some wonderful scenes this week as Bologna fans celebrated getting into the Champions League. It was an incredible achievement for the club and why not enjoy it. Without putting a negative spin on things, I would suggest they enjoy it to the max because it’s unlikely they will be a top five club again next season in my opinion unless they improve the squad. Their average xG created is only 1.34 which is a mid-table figure, but their success has been built at the back in fairness. Their average xG conceded is only 1.18 which is the joint-fourth best defensive figure in Serie A this season. After coming up from Serie B last season, Genoa will be delighted to be your “classic mid-table” side this season! We should have an interesting game here.
It always hard to judge the motivation levels at this stage of the season – Bologna played Juventus on Monday and as I said prior to that fixture, with both sides locked in for Champions League football it was probably more important to Bologna as they were aiming to finish above Juventus. We had a very entertaining game that finished 3-3, even if all the stats pointed towards Under 2.5 goals. Bologna come into the game as the favourites here at 2.26 with Genoa 3.65 and the draw is 3.45 at the time of writing. Genoa have really struggled to create chances this season, and much like Bologna they have focused on being solid at the back – that has got them into mid-table and you can’t knock that from Serie B but obviously there are red flags for next season. Their average xG created is only 0.94 – they are one of only three clubs with an average xG created under 1.0 this season in Serie A. As we’re into the final weekend, we might see a more open game than we usually would between these sides, and I like Bologna at 2.26 – I’d have them a little shorter with how limited Genoa have been going forward.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Bologna to beat Genoa at 2.26 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

GIRONA V GRANADA
8pm We move over to La Liga to finish Friday night football as Girona host Granada. Usually La Liga play all their fixtures together on the final weekend, but this weekend sees a welcome change. I’m not a fan of all ten fixtures on together, they can be easily broken up into what outcomes effect each other and you can easily play those games at the same time. Girona host Granada with these two sides having had very different seasons. It’s been a superb season for Girona – they have secured Champions League football and look to have a very bright future ahead. They’ll be able to bring in some top class played and it looks like the club have an excellent set-up at the moment – they have definitely over-performed this season when you look at their under-lining numbers but you wouldn’t be surprised to see them at least go close to keeping their top four spot next season. For Granada, the writing has been on the wall for a while now as they face relegation and they have a long road ahead of them in the Segunda. Granada just haven’t been good enough this season, you can see it in their xG figures.
When you put their attacking and defensive figures together, they are the worst performing side in La Liga this season. They are one of only three clubs with an average xG created under 1.0, and they have the third worst defensive figure too. They face a difficult end to the season here too against a Girona side who have been top class at home – all of the Girona issues this season have come away from home. It’s no surprise to see Girona come into the game as the red-hot favourites; they are trading as short as 1.24 at the time of writing with Granada 12.5 and the draw is 8.0. Granada are still waiting on their first away win of the season, and up against a side like Girona it looks like they are going to go the whole season without an away win – they’ve only managed three draws from 18 away games too. I feel this is a case of how many goals can Girona score rather than will they win, and they are trading 1.63 to cover the 1.5 goal handicap which looks a very appealing bet!
The Ultra Says:
Three points win Girona -1.5 goals to beat Granada at 1.63 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
