LA LIGA PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Monday’s La Liga games between ELCHE v GETAFE and HUESCA v REAL BETIS both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ELCHE V GETAFE
6pm We have a big evening at the bottom of La Liga for Monday Night Football in Europe this week and it promises to be a very interesting evening. We start with Elche hosting Getafe in a massive game for both sides. We are coming up to the half way point in the season and Elche sit in the bottom three. They actually have a game in hand over Getafe who are only one point ahead of them and they also have two games in hand over some of the other teams around them. They shouldn’t be negative about their chances of staying up but of course it’s games like this that are massive.
Getafe have been on the wrong end of some very close games and they just haven’t got the breaks. They’ve lost a couple of recent games 1-0 when xG said they were unlucky to not get a draw. They actually managed to beat Barcelona 1-0 earlier in the season in a deserved victory but we know Barcelona haven’t been at their best this season. Looking at xG, the problem for Getafe seems obvious – they just don’t create enough chances. A lot of their games finish 1-0 and have under 2.5 goals. With Elche not creating much either I can only see under 2.5 goals landing but the market is expecting this as it’s trading around 1.4 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. I expect a very close game here, and the draw can’t be ignored at 3.0 in my opinion.

HUESCA V REAL BETIS
8pm More action from the bottom of La Liga for the second game this evening as Huesca host Real Betis. Huesca sit last in La Liga, but they haven’t played terribly. Their issue has been too many draws – nine out of 17 games! Real Betis are safely in mid-table, and perhaps it was harsh earlier to suggest a “night of action at the bottom of the table” from their point of view. I feel Huesca have adjusted to life in La Liga pretty well however, and as we know they are tough to beat. Put in this way – if you back the team against them to win you would have lost more times than you would have won.
We have a pretty open betting heat, and I’m sure Real Betis will attract a lot of punters in at their current price of 2.64 but that’s worth backing for me too. It’s only worth a small investment as I respect Huesca however the last two performances from Betis have been eye-catching for me. They had a loss and a draw, but their xG figures were very good. They created 2.36 to 0.27 in a 1-1 draw with Sevilla and then created 2.94 to 1.73 when losing to Levante. If they play like that here they should break down this Huesca side and with Huesca not scoring many goals themselves, Betis are worth backing at the odds.
