MONDAY SERIE A: The Ultra previews Monday’s game between SASSUOLO v BOLOGNA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

However, before we get there we start the week with action from Serie A as Sassuolo host Bologna. This is definitely not the most glamorous fixture of the week, but we do have an interesting market. We have an open betting heat, with Sassuolo the favourites with home advantage trading 2.46, Bologna are 3.05 and the draw is 3.6 at the time of writing.
Both sides are sitting in mid-table along aside plenty of other clubs – there’s a few spots between them but there’s only two points. Bologna have been much improved this season compared to last, and they have a chance to finish in the top half of the table which would be a nice achievement. I think we have to be realistic with both clubs – they are your average mid-table sides, and they aren’t going to go beyond that.
Both sides tend to play a cagey game. Sassuolo are creating and conceding the same average xG at 1.3 while Bologna create a little less at 1.2, but concede a little more at 1.4. There really isn’t much difference there, and you can see why there’s only two points between them in the table. At home and away nothing stands out as a negative to me. Sassuolo are solid at home, and Bologna pretty much play in line with what you’d expect away from home. They actually have one more point than Sassuolo from one less fixture.
We have three Serie A fixtures on Monday, but this one caught my eye because Under 2.5 goals jumps off the page in my opinion, and it’s currently trading at a nice price at 2.04. They both have an xG of under three goals in their Serie A game this season with Sassuolo’s xG 2.6 per game and Bologna 2.7. Obviously the negatives are that neither side have anything to play for here, so they might just open up and Over 2.5 goals has a good record when these sides meet. However, both clearly struggle in front of goal and neither give away chances for fun either. I feel Under 2.5 goals is value at 2.04, and it’s worth taking but without going mad with stakes. Two points feels right.
