EURO QUALIFIERS: The Ultra previews Saturday’s games between UKRAINE v ENGLAND and NORTH MACEDONIA v ITALY both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
UKRAINE V ENGLAND
5pm Instead of a hectic domestic schedule this Saturday on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE, the Euro 2024 Qualifiers continue. We have a cracking day in Group C with England and Italy both in action, and we kick off the action with Ukraine hosting England. Although England are fully expected to top the Group, especially after already beating Italy, for the time being we can call this a top of the table clash as Ukraine currently sit in second. England have a perfect four from four record, and I doubt we’re going to learn anything new about England in this qualifying campaign. Realistically the only interesting fixture is the Italy one – all the other games England will be fully expected to win. They come into this game trading as the odds on favourites, but they aren’t exceptionally short at 1.46. Ukraine are trading 9.2 while the draw is 4.8 at the time of writing. The sides have already met in this Group with England running out easy 2-0 winners at Wembley. Two goals towards the end of the first half from Kane and Saka gave England complete control, and from there they just saw the game out. The sides also met in 2021 with England running out 4-0 winners.
There is definitely a big gulf in class between the sides, and the 1.46 feels on the big side on England. I’d have them a little under 1.4. Ukraine are obviously in a very difficult situation not being able to play their home games at home, and Poland will host them this time. They were made to work hard to beat Malta 1-0 in their last home game which was played in Slovakia. They were also made to work hard to beat North Macedonia 3-2, and for reference England beat North Macedonia 7-0. As usual with England, most of the drama with England is off the pitch with squad selection and the current talk is Southgate will leave after Euro 2024 – although do you believe Guardiola will take over? I don’t see that happening! For this game though, I can’t see past an England win here and the 1.46 is ten ticks too big in my opinion. It’s worth a confident bet.

NORTH MACEDONIA V ITALY
7.45pm We stay in Group C to finish the action on Saturday as North Macedonia host Italy. Who could ever forget the huge drama between these two when North Macedonia scored in the 92nd minute to knock Italy out of the World Cup at the playoff stage. North Macedonia didn’t make the World Cup either as they were knocked out by Portugal in the playoff final, but it will still be their most famous result. It was absolute carnage, the scenes were incredible. Obviously there is a huge gulf in class between the sides and Italy had to just deal with that shock for what it was, a complete shock! They come into this game as the heavy odds on favourites; they are trading 1.34 at the time of writing with North Macedonia 11.5 and the draw is 5.5. Given that is a fixture that Italy will never forget, I don’t think they need any extra motivation for this game! They have work to do in this Group too. They have games in hand because of the Nations League Finals, but they have to win games like this to get back into second place and a place at the Euros. They are only three points behind Ukraine with a game in hand, and you’d expect to see Italy go ahead of Ukraine after the results this weekend.
North Macedonia were tonked 7-0 by England in the last International break, and although Italy haven’t been as good as England recently, that highlights the level North Macedonia are at. They finished mid-table in a Nations League Group with the likes of Georgia, Bulgaria and Gibraltar in it – only finishing ahead of Gibraltar. I can’t see past an Italy win here, and although I’m not going to recommend them at 1.34 because I generally don’t tip under 1.4 – I couldn’t put anyone off including them in any Acca they have this weekend. I feel this is a case of how many goals can Italy score rather than will they win, and the 2.0 on Italy -1.5 goals is a very appealing bet to end the evening. I’m not going to go mad with the stakes because Italy have thrown in some very lacklustre performances recently but they can cover the Handicap here.
