SERIE A SUNDAY: The Ultra previews JUVENTUS v BOLOGNA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
JUVENTUS V BOLOGNA
7.45pm The focus on Sunday from Europe turns to Serie A on Betdaq Betting Exchange as Juventus host Bologna at the Allianz. Of course, La Liga are on a break this weekend for the Copa del Rey Final, but this is a massive fixture for both sides. It feels like a must win game for Juventus, who need to take advantage of Como dropping points recently. Juventus come into the weekend sitting in fourth, two points ahead of Como now. Bologna arrive here having suffered a heavy defeat to Aston Villa in their Europa League Quarter-Final; losing 4-0 on Thursday and 7-1 on aggregate. The legs will be heavy, the heads could be down, and they now face a quick turnaround against a Juventus side desperate for three points. It could not be a tougher fixture to walk into.
Juventus will see this as a superb chance to beat a usually solid Bologna side. However, the problem for Bologna this season is that they haven’t been that solid – they have built their success for the last few years on being solid at the back but they haven’t been able to grind out as many results this season. They look in massive danger of missing out on the European spots and the money that comes with that. I’s no surprise that Juventus come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.5 with Bologna 7.6 and the draw is 4.7 at the time of writing.
Juventus’s performance levels have been genuinely excellent this season, even if the points total hasn’t fully reflected that. Their average xG created of 1.89 is the second best attacking figure in Serie A – only Inter Milan top them going forward. Their average xG conceded of 1.14 is also the fourth best defensive figure. They really should have been involved in the title race this season. However, creating good quality chances for Juventus has been a major issue for a number of years – at least they have seemingly fixed that issue this season; they just need to start converting their chances now!
Bologna have never had superb attacking figures. Their average xG created of 1.43 puts them eighth in the attacking table – a genuinely respectable attacking figure and evidence that they are not just sitting back and parking the bus, but they do focus on being tight at the back. Their average xG conceded of 1.15 is the fifth best defensive figure in Serie A this season, but they have usually been top of the defensive table and that is what has changed this season. That being said, that’s still a pretty impressive figure. Obviously this feels like a good time to meet Bologna with the Europa League exit still fresh on Thursday, but with their defensive figure and Juventus not converting all their chances, I wouldn’t be rushing to take the 1.5 on the home win. It’s hard to make the case that is massive value. I feel this is a game for small stakes, and I’d have Under 2.5 goals a little shorter than the current 2.18. My fear is Juventus could blow Bologna away, but I’m hoping they can make lift difficult to Juve.
The Ultra Says:
One point win Under 2.5 goals at 2.18 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
