SPAIN V SCOTLAND

7.45pm The International Break begins on Thursday, and we start the Euro 2024 Qualifiers with a bang on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! Spain host Scotland in a top-of-the-table clash in Group A. So far Scotland have been absolutely perfect in qualifying with five wins from five games. That included a win at home against Spain, so a draw here would likely see them top the Group. Spain are six points behind Scotland at the moment, but they do have a game in hand. At the start of the Group Norway would have been favourites to qualify over Scotland so to get to this position has been superb for Scotland.

Most football fans will expect Spain to win here. On paper, there’s an obvious gulf in class between the sides when you look at their squads. However, Scotland have been superb in recent times and they have a fantastic squad who all play for each other. Essentially they are a fantastic team, rather than a group of talented individuals. That’s worth a lot in International football these days – we all know these qualifiers can drag along for players and usually they have some sort of injury to get out of the International break if they are playing meaningless games against very weak opposition. That’s not the case here because this is a very important game, but you get what I mean about International football in general.

Spain come into the game as the massive odds on favourites. They are trading 1.32 at the time of writing with Scotland 12.0 and the draw is 6.0. while it might be hard to see past a Spain win here, I have to say the 1.32 feels a little short. Scotland have made a huge amount of progress lately, and they have been playing their best football for many years. They are definitely more comfortable with home support but they did manage a 2-1 win away to Norway in this Group, and Haaland was playing too.

I feel this game will be closer than the odds suggest, and the 1.32 is a good value lay in my opinion. I also feel that the game will be more cagey that the market expects too. Scotland managed to keep a clean sheet against Spain when they had home advantage, and Under 2.5 goals looks a nice option at around 2.15. I couldn’t put anyone off that bet, however I can’t get away from the Spain lay here at 1.32. I’m not going to go mad with the stakes because Spain are an excellent side, but Scotland will make the game closer than those odds suggest and it’s the value play in my opinion.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Spain to beat Scotland at 1.32 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
