WALES V CROATIA

7.45pm All the focus on Sunday in the Euro 2024 Qualifiers will be on Wales v Croatia with a massive clash in Group D on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! Wales fans would have been watching Croatia v Turkey on Thursday night and they didn’t get the result they wanted. Turkey grinded out a 1-0 win away from home, and that has put them top of the Group for the time being with 13 points. Croatia sit behind them on 10 points, but they have a game in hand and then come Armenia and Wales with 7 points each. Wales also have a game in hand over Turkey – this is it.

Turkey beating Croatia was a massive blow, and really puts Wales on the backfoot in the race for a top two finish. This fixture is absolutely massive, a loss here would see them trying to get into a play-off based on Nations League winners and then rankings after that. As things stand Wales will actually get a playoff but that could easily change. They are bottom of the Group A Nations League rankings but because they are in an A Group, a lot of those sides will qualify directly. It all gets very complicated towards the end of qualifying!

Wales started this Group with a huge 1-1 draw away to Croatia. That was a superb result and things seemed to be going well with Croatia beating Turkey etc. Then Wales lost at home to Armenia – that result has basically cost them a huge amount of ground, and then in the same International break they lost to Turkey as well. They will have home advantage against Turkey in the final fixture of the Group; but the top two could be too far away by then if they lose here. A lot at stake then!

Croatia come into the game as the favourites, they are trading 2.14 at the time of writing with Wales 4.1 and the draw is 3.3. Neither side has really set the world alight in qualifying, and it’s hard to see a lot of goals here. I would expect a classic cagey International game, and Wales wouldn’t be unhappy with a draw. With that situation and the home side not having to chase the game, Under 2.5 goals makes a lot of appeal at 1.65. Wales haven’t been good going forward since Bale retired to be honest, and I would expect them to struggle again here.

I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market, it’s hard to make the case that Croatia should be odds on and I feel 2.14 is the right price. When there’s no value on offer the best option is to sit out of the market. Both Teams Not To Score is also an appealing bet at 1.85 but I can’t get away from Under 2.5 goals at 1.65. That looks the stand out bet in an important game.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.65 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
