WHY DAQMAN IS ON A HIGH! Daqman had two winning hits but yesterday at Royal Ascot left him stalls shy. On day one, Rayevka (BETDAQ 9.5) ‘won’ in the middle of the track but was just pipped by one drawn high and yesterday Indalo (BETDAQ 14.0) was all set to score in the same central position when caught in similar fashion. No wonder he prefers the high stalls today!

CANNES HITS HIGH SPOTS

🎩 3.05 Royal Ascot (King George V Handicap) LAYS LOGIC: Last year’s winner was the first outright favourite to score in 16 years!

DRAW: A double-figure draw is essential (14-16) with, most recently, six out of nine released from stalls between 16 and 22.

Joseph O’Brien runs four: drawn 13 is Enceladus, who won his maiden (1m 2f+) a head from Almazann, who was also second, 2.25 lengths behind over 1m 4f, when Cannes (21) won his.

Cannes (coming out of 21) is my pick of the high draw and I’ll take Tierra Del Toro (10) on the other side: by a French Derby winner out of a sister to dual Arc heroine, Treve.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 7.9 Cannes, 13.0 Tierra Del Toro

JOCKEY KEANE ON LEGACY

🎩 3.40 (Ribblesdale Stakes) Blinkers and hood on a number of these appear to imply desperation to the challenge against the top three.

John Gosden must be happy that Legacy Link is ready for another race 13 days after her second in the Epsom Oaks.

The Frankel filly Gilded Prize, another for Juddmonte, was unbeaten until she encountered a soft surface at Longchamp. Colin Keane appears to prefer Legacy Link.

The Goodwood Oaks trial has Earth Shot within a head of Inis Mor, who was less than three lengths, third, behind Diamond Necklace in the French Oaks; therefore underrated on 100. BETDAQ 6.2

CADRAN TIP FOR CABALLO

🎩 4.15 Royal Ascot (Gold Cup) It’s time youth had its say in a Gold Cup gone stale with last year’s success of a seven-year-old; only Yeats of that age had done that since 1929.

Gone stale, too, with the domination of Aidan (Scandinavia) O’Brien with nine wins and John (Trawlerman) Gosden with five. More than ever reason for some young bloods.

Roger Varian (aged 47) could have the potential with Rahiebb, while George Scott (he’s 38) has the out-and-out stayer required to win this, with Caballo De Mar, Group-1 Prix Du Cadran winner over 2m 4f in the autumn.

Babyface 33-year-old Joseph O’Brien must get more from Al Riffa, staying on third to Caballo on the soft at Longchamp last month but an unlikely improver at age six.

Scandinavia is Goodwood Cup winner and St Leger hero but only by a neck from Rahiebb, and that one is also ‘a magnificent specimen’ (quote unquote jockey Ray Dawson, who is enjoying a quality season).

Betdaq Betting Exchange 8.4 Rahiebb, 9.0 Caballo De Mar

AUSSIE ACE HAS MOONFALL

🎩 4.50 Royal Ascot (Britannia Handicap) LAYS LOGIC: Just one winning favourite in 11 years; 14 winners out of 16 from double-figure stalls.

Wechaad looked in need of this step up in trip when fourth, drawn wide, in his prep race at Goodwood and has been blessed with stall 27.

On one side of him, Pathein (in 26), was third that day at Goodwood, and on the other in 28 is Zac Lloyd, young Aussie ace rider – he’s just won the Golden Slipper – who partners the gelded Moonfall from the Bow Echo yard of George Boughey.

Outback Heat (gate 18) scored on his handicap debut in the same race that prepped Harry Eustace’s winner of this, Docklands, in 2023.

On the near side, We’re Goosers (7) is the pick for Oisin Murphy, who has found the winner twice in the last five years.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 14.5 Outback Heat, 18 Moonfall, 35 Pathein

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
