CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Tuesday’s mouthwatering Champions League action between MANCHESTER CITY v DORTMUND and REAL MADRID v LIVERPOOL both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
MANCHESTER CITY V DORTMUND
8pm We have the Champions League Quarter Finals this week in a wonderful week of sport! It’s going to be a big week for the Premier League sides, and we have two in action tonight. It’s such a shame that both games kick off at the same time, however we said that in the last round too! We start the Quarter Finals with Man City taking on Dortmund in a tie they really should win. Dortmund have been poor in the Bundesliga this season, and they lost a big game at the weekend against Eintracht Frankfurt. They are now seven points off the top four and they also have a fight on their hands for the Europa League spot too. City have been in excellent form and dominated Leicester in a 2-0 win the weekend. I feel this will be one way traffic.
I expected City to be around 1.3 when I clicked into the market on BETDAQ Betting Exchange and I was surprised to see them trading as big as 1.4. Dortmund have been very average this season, and while they came through the Sevilla tie that was an unexpected high scoring affair. Sevilla usually keep things tight, but those games ended up packed with goals. Looking at xG figures, you can see Dortmund’s problem. They have been giving away a host of chances recently, and you simply can’t do that against a side like City. The 1.4 might not be a price for everyone, but for me it’s a Max Bet. I could have backed City on the handicap at a bigger price for a lower stake, but I can’t see past City winning here and the 1.4 is too big to ignore.

REAL MADRID V LIVERPOOL
8pm A box office fixture! Imagine the atmosphere if we had fans – let’s not dwell on it but it’s fixtures like this where you really miss the atmosphere. Both sides had nice wins the weekend and come into the tie in good form; we should have a cracker. Liverpool absolutely bossed Arsenal at the weekend, and that was a much improved performance from their recent Premier League games. It’s a massive week for Real, as they moved three points behind Atletico Madrid in La Liga at the weekend and they also have El Clasico this weekend! It’s fair to say that both sides haven’t been at their best this season, particularly Liverpool who have been quite poor at times, but I still feel there will be no excuses here – they both performed well at the weekend, and both have notched three wins in a row.
Not many expect Real Madrid to come through the tie with Atalanta but they bossed both legs, as did Liverpool against RB Leipzig but they were expected to win that. This is a type of game where you expect a cagey affair, but given the quality in both sides we’re still likely to see an attacking game. Liverpool’s tactics were spot on against Arsenal at the weekend, and although that was just Arsenal, similar tactics could work very well here. We all know that Real are dodgy at the back. I feel the match odds market is pretty spot on, as I would agree with Liverpool being marginal favourites but not by much. I’m happy to take the 1.88 on over 2.5 goals here – I feel we’ll see plenty of action between these two, and if there’s an early goal or spark we could see a very dramatic first leg.
