TUESDAY LA LIGA: Our football tipster The Ultra previews REAL BETIS v ALAVES and CADIZ v ESPANYOL both including a recommended BETDAQ bet.

REAL BETIS V ALAVES

7pm The action in Europe continues on Tuesday and La Liga is the focus on BETDAQ Betting Exchange tonight. We have two very important games here, and we start the evening with Real Betis hosting Alaves. With Barcelona starting the season so poorly and Atletico Madrid not being at their best, Real Betis find themselves in the top four and they can dream of a Champions League spot for the moment. They really need to win this game though, as they come into this fixture off the back of three games where they dropped points. They were unlucky to lose against Athletic Bilbao as they created a bigger xG, but their performances at home to Celta Vigo and away to Rayo Vallecano were pretty average and they need to turn that momentum around. It must be frustrating for Real Betis, because they have beaten Barcelona and Real Sociedad within their last six games, but they have dropped points when they shouldn’t have. Alaves are in the bottom three, and although they are fighting to stay up with every game so important, Real Betis should have the class to win.

Alaves have put together two pretty solid performances and grinded out two draws against Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad. Those games were pretty even, and they deserved the two draws. I’m sure they will employ quite negative tactics here and put XI men behind the ball. The massive worry here from an Alaves point of view is those two draws came at home, and their recent away performances have been very poor. They could only manage an xG of 0.30 away to Villarreal and then 0.26 away to Rayo Vallecano. I can see Betis having most of the ball and Alaves trying to hold on for a draw. Although Betis haven’t been winning games lately their last three xG figures read 1.30, 1.26 and 2.10. They will create enough here to win the game and the 1.53 is worth backing. Alaves are a very limited side and they have only managed five points away from home this season – they are bottom of the table over the last eight games too, and this is an excellent chance for Betis to get back to winning ways.

CADIZ V ESPANYOL

8.30pm We finish the day with Cadiz hosting Espanyol. We have another big game at the bottom of the table here as Cadiz sit in the bottom three. Espanyol are safely in mid-table, but Cadiz will have one eye on the Alaves result earlier in the evening. Espanyol actually didn’t do Cadiz any favours when they lost to Elche recently, and that just highlighted how up-and-down Espanyol have been this season. We landed a nice lay on them at odds on because looking at their xG figures you can see how up-and-down they are. It’s actually hard to know what type of performance you’re going to get from Espanyol – they can be impressive and they can be woeful. When you look through their recent games you see xG figures like 2.25, 2.39 and 2.18 but then you also see figures like 0.36, 0.49 and 0.43. You can understand why Espanyol are trading around 2.45 here and not closer to 2.0 – punters just find them not to trust and that was definitely highlighted by the Elche game recent in my view. Cadiz are a reasonably solid side, but they have been poor this season. The xG table actually puts them in last position.

Although when teams are in a relegation battle, the natural thing to focus on is their home form. Sides usually rely on grinding out points at home with the help of their fans, but Cadiz have actually collected more points away from home this season. They are bottom of the table on home form with just five points from ten games – the next side is three ahead too, and they’d definitely be going down if it was just based on home form. I’m not sure being at home is an advantage here! I fully accept that Espanyol can produce any type of performance, but at the same time they can create an xG of 2.0+ here and blow away this struggling Cadiz side. I feel the fair value price on Espanyol here is close to 2.2, and I feel the 2.45 is a value price worth backing. Keep stakes limited because you can’t fully trsut Espanyol, but Cadiz at home look there for the taking at the moment, and if Espanyol turn up in good form they should win.
